In association with the Graphicaderme studio in Avignon, Tatouage & Partage invites you to experience two full days of learning and sharing focused on tattooing, with parallel themes including painting, hygiene and the sociological questions that define the discipline.
The first seminar will be led by the young prodigy of European photorealism, Thomas Carli Jarlier, who will be revealing the secrets to his technique and discussing his experience. The second seminar will be headed up by one of the American pioneers of the genre, Joshua Carlton. Two men, 25 years apart, and bound by a profound mutual respect and an all-consuming passion for tattooing.

As well as their exceptional guests, the next Tatouage & Partage seminars are also unique thanks to their setting in the legendary Palais des Papes in Avignon, a former papal residence and a historical monument listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The seminars will take place in the Treasurer’s Chamber, a sublime, wooden-framed space spanning 1,830 sq. ft. framed by three vast, mullioned windows offering panoramic views over the Place du Palais and the Petit Palais art museum.
Joshua Carlton is an honorary member of the Chaudesaigues Award, and is today considered to be one of the pioneers of contemporary realistic tattoos in the United States. Displaying undeniable talent both with a tattoo gun and a paintbrush, Joshua Carlton will be tattooing for the very first time outside of the United States at the 2017 Cantal Ink festival, before travelling to the city of Avignon to reveal his trade secrets. He will also be spending several days tattooing at the Graphicaderme studio in Avignon as part of his European tour.
