In association with the Graphicaderme studio in Avignon, Tatouage & Partage invites you to experience two full days of learning and sharing focused on tattooing, with parallel themes including painting, hygiene and the sociological questions that define the discipline.

 

The first seminar will be led by the young prodigy of European photorealism, Thomas Carli Jarlier, who will be revealing the secrets to his technique and discussing his experience. The second seminar will be headed up by one of the American pioneers of the genre, Joshua Carlton. Two men, 25 years apart, and bound by a profound mutual respect and an all-consuming passion for tattooing.

As well as their exceptional guests, the next Tatouage & Partage seminars are also unique thanks to their setting in the legendary Palais des Papes in Avignon, a former papal residence and a historical monument listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

 

The seminars will take place in the Treasurer’s Chamber, a sublime, wooden-framed space spanning 1,830 sq. ft. framed by three vast, mullioned windows offering panoramic views over the Place du Palais and the Petit Palais art museum.

 

 

Joshua Carlton

Joshua Carlton is an honorary member of the Chaudesaigues Award, and is today considered to be one of the pioneers of contemporary realistic tattoos in the United States. Displaying undeniable talent both with a tattoo gun and a paintbrush, Joshua Carlton will be tattooing for the very first time outside of the United States at the 2017 Cantal Ink festival, before travelling to the city of Avignon to reveal his trade secrets. He will also be spending several days tattooing at the Graphicaderme studio in Avignon as part of his European tour.

Thomas Carli Jarlier

Thomas Carli Jarlier is an ambassador for Killer Ink, and a protégé of World Famous Tattoo Ink,lauded as one of the best tattoo artists in Clermont-Ferrand and one of the most promising figures on the French tattooing scene. This prince of black-and-gray photorealism adorns all those who enter his Noire Ink studio with animal and human faces, pop culture icons and melancholic landscapes. Watch this space!

Alice Devillers

Alice Devillers is at the head of Cap-Hygiène, an organization providing continuous learning, consulting and management services for tattoo artists and piercers. Drawing on her expertise, she will be on-hand to share her experience and know-how while offering advice and guidance for best practices.

Can I reserve more than one ticket?

Yes. You can reserve as many tickets as you want, subject to availability. The form below should be filled out as many times as the number of tickets you want. Once your first ticket has been reserved, you will be sent back to the original form, to be filled out again.

 

Do I need to speak French to take part in the seminars?

Each seminar in French will be translated into English in real-time by an interpreter, and vice versa.

 

Can I obtain proof of my attendance at the seminars for my clients?

After the seminars, you will be given a certificate confirming your attendance. This personalized document will prove you have taken part in the two days of seminars. We recommend that you display this document in your studio, or present it when applying for training courses.
